i did it! i finished our week in the life photo book, ordered it and finally have it in my hands.
it took me a bit longer than i had expected, but you know how a busy life can mess with the best laid plans. so i took the pressure off myself to hurry up and finish it. i gave myself small goals, like putting together one page a night instead of trying to finish the entire book in one night and staying up until 3 am and then being exhausted and frustrated that i didn’t finish it. (like that was even realistic?) well you know what? the one-page-at-a-time approach really worked.
some details about the book… the photos were all taken during ali edwards’ week in the life project back in april. i documented our lives in photos + words for seven full days. i was inspired by nettio designs’ 2011 week in the life book and purchased her photo book frenzy templates to make my 2012 week in the life photo book. i had so many photos that i took during the week with both my big camera and my iphone and i wanted to incorporate as many as possible, so i added pages using the cover grid template to introduce each day of the week. i had the 8×10 photo book printed from blurb. it was the first time i had ordered from blurb and i was very happy with the quality of the book. after ordering my book from blurb, i had the option to create a free e-book version of my book. i did this and was able to load it onto my ipad. so now i can view my book in print and on my ipad. yay blurb!
i have already flipped through this photo book with quinn. it is so fun to see him smile as he realizes that he is in the photos in this book. and i love to listen to him tell me stories about the photos just as he remembers them. this is priceless.
go ahead. make a photo book. any photo book. there is nothing quite like having your memories in print.
here are a few photos of my book…
