2015 week 1 digital project life + simply white photo collage templates ==> tracy-larsen.com/blog

hello first completed week of the year!

this year i am focusing on keeping my pages simple and not spending too much time putting them together. i can seriously spend hours second guessing my photo choices and page layouts. i want to let it all go and just get my pages put together with our stories. i don’t want to over think things. this is going to be a process, but i’m going to do it so i can keep up with our story each week this year. i am changing my week in review cards to a 3×4 format. i’m using my soon-to-be released set of circle numbers to make these simple journaling cards. i just really like the way the actual number looks on the page so that is what i’m going with this year.

i’m going to continue to document our project life® pages on a weekly basis. this is how i have been doing it for the past three years and i really like it this way.

i am going to include more clean + simple design elements into my pages with some new word art and 3×4 and 4×6 cards that i’m designing this year. (did you see my first set, the good things {word art} brushes, that are in my shop now?) i will also have some new 12×12 simply white life pages templates out soon. and for those of you who are trying out a different size book this year, i have the simply white life pages in 6×8, 8×10 and 8.5×11 sizes too. your memories documented your way!

week 1

i like to keep my years and weeks documented from monday to sunday so i don’t break up the weekend. i wanted to start my project life® book on january 1st, so my week 1 only included four days – thursday, friday, saturday and sunday.

this week’s pages include a photo i took with my iphone macro lens (like this one – i love it so much!) of a blue sparkly ornament and the “twenty fifteen” free word art that i shared in my latest newsletter. (you can sign up for it here.) i am keeping me week in review cards simple this year. i wanted to include the week number and the date, so i used my new circle number brushes (being released soon…) to create this 3×4 week in review card. i stamped the number 1 on the top, wrote in a few things about our week and put the date on the bottom. i made the number 1 circle number and the “twenty fifteen” word art into gold foil using this awesome video tutorial. there are so many great uses for gold foil these days…

i also used the gold foil january 2015 calendar 3×4 card from my 2015 calendar card set.

this week was all about football with the seminoles playing the oregon ducks in one of the college play-off games. we had friends over for the game and had a great time. there is a photo of a drawing quinn made for the game and a special football dip we made. there were also some shopping cart photos of the boys, mark working on a house project and tate’s new q&a a day for kid’s book that we just started to do with him every night before bed. (quinn already has this book.) of course there are little cards with things the boys say. i always include these.  i took photos of the 2015 numbers that the boys colored. notice how they both turned them into seminole football number pictures? see, i said it was all about football this week!

i like how there was a gold theme this week. it very nicely coordinated with the garnet and gold in our fsu football pictures. the circle “a brand new year” card and the gold dot card are from my 2015 new year card set that i just released.

Chloe - Hi Tracy, I’m brand new to project life and already I’m searching the internet high and low to find more journaling cards. I use the PL app only, not digital on photoshop. Before I purchase your product, do you know if I can use your cards as individual files imported as photos into the PL app? I know the process of how to do this via Dropbox, but I’m unsure if it file(s) will be separated by card.
